Course Delivery Methods
Explore the Benefits of Our Unique Blended-Learning Program
The University of Florida’s Working Professional Pharm.D. program curriculum is delivered through a unique blended-learning model. Expert lectures as well as reading assignments from the most well-known and authoritative pharmacy textbooks deliver the classroom right to your home. The program also utilizes an online portal and virtual communication tools in addition to convenient regional and remote learning sessions.
The Clinical Practice Assessments are a vital component of the WPPD program which does require some travel to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Because we are determined to help our students become better clinical practitioners, travel to the University may be required each year to fulfill the clinical requirements.
Students can complete all course and clinical requirements in as few as three years while continuing to practice pharmacy and maintain their career.
In this program you will enjoy a variety of learning environments that fit your learning style:
Learn at Home
All course materials are available online anytime and anywhere.
You will be assigned to a small group led by a professional site facilitator who provides academic guidance and preparation. Fellow students provide invaluable support through interactive learning sessions.
Through our course website you’ll have access to discussion forums, class e-mail, assignments, course schedules, and more.
Learn at Work
Clinical practice assessments will allow you to put your education to work. Immediately apply what you learn during the WPPD program in your work environment and local community.
Learn in Person
During the program you’ll attend face-to-face learning sessions with the University of Florida’s experienced pharmacy faculty and network with other students in the WPPD program.
